Vladimir Silkin — Head of Department of Journalism, Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service, RANEPA
Vladimir Silkin (1963) is Dean of the Faculty of Journalism of the Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service (IPACS) of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor. He graduated from the Faculty of History of Saratov State University named after N.G. Chernyshevsky. In 1994-2003 he worked at the Volga Region Academy of Public Administration (now Institute of Management named after P.A. Stolypin), having gone from senior lecturer to professor. He served as Deputy Dean, Dean, Vice-Rector.
Since 2003, he has been working at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. He is the author of more than 60 works, including monographs, articles in encyclopedic publications, dictionaries, scientific journals and textbooks, including "Information Analytics in Communication Management (2016), "Communicology: Theory and Practice of Mass Media (2017"), "Theory and Practice of Mass Media as a Fundamental Direction”.
His scientific interest is focused on the history of Russia, information and communication process management, journalism, media and communications, media in a globalizing world.
The faculty of Journalism of IPACS RANEPA is one of the key in the training of journalistic personnel and is among the top 10 journalism faculties in Russia.
