Vasily Golubev — Governor of Rostov Region
Vasily U. Golubev was born on January 30, 1957 in Ermakovskaya village of Tatsinskiy district (Rostov region).
In 1980 he graduated from the department of engineering economics of Moscow Institute of Management named after Sergo Ordzhonikidze.
In 1991 he was appointed and in 1996 was elected the Head of Lenin district of Moscow region.
Since April 1999 he was the Vice-Governor of Moscow region, since March 2000 – the First Deputy Chairman of the Moscow Region Government.
He was in charge of the research and production sector, agriculture, food supplies, housing and utilities infrastructure, fuel, energy and construction sector of Moscow region.
In December 2003 he was elected the Head of Leninskiy district of Moscow region again and reelected for the second term in March 2008.
On May 21, 2010 by the recommendation of the President of the Russian Federation he was empowered to be the Governor of Rostov region.
Due to the expiry of powers, Vasily Golubev had been temporarily appointed as the Governor of Rostov region until the person elected the Governor of Rostov region was empowered to perform these duties on 14 June, 2015.
On 13 September, 2015 he was elected the Governor of Rostov region by residents of Rostov region.
He graduated from Russian Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation. He has the following degrees: Cand.Sc.(Law) and Dr.Sc.(Economics).
Vasily Golubev is married and has 2 children
Government awards: Order of Honor, Order of Friendship, Order of Merit for the Motherland of the IV Degree, etc.
