Professor of Geography at Moscow State University (MGU), CSc, graduate of the Geography Department of MSU
Since 2003: directed a regional programme of the Independent Social Policy Institute.
Since 2014: chief research fellow at the Social Analysis and Forecasting Institute at RANEPA.
Her academic interests include socioeconomic development of Russian regions and cities. She is has written 250 published works, including 4 monographs.
Member of the Expert Board under the Russian Government and of the Expert Board of Vnesheconombank. 1997–2012: expert of the United Nations Development Programme in Russia.
